“Community is much more than belonging to something; it’s about doing something together that makes belonging matter.”
~Brian Solis

As our team settles into 2022, I am thrilled to let you know about a few exciting changes within your Community Foundation. It is my hope you will be able to take a quick moment to read about our new office location, and new team member.

Thank you for this opportunity to update you on news and programs throughout the year. Soon to follow – details about our Foundation’s local grant-making made possible by your generosity.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of your week.

We moved!

Since March 12, 2010, the Stratford Perth Community Foundation has called 55 Lorne Avenue in Stratford its home office. Today we share news that we have relocated the our main office. This move is a wonderful opportunity that meets the needs of our organization as we continue to serve our donors, and our community, with excellence. See below for our new mailing and street address.

Like many of you, we have been working remotely for two years. In the Fall of 2021, we approached the renewal period of our lease and we contemplated what our organization needed. At that time, long-time business supporter, CULLITON Inc., generously offered to donate a secure and separate office space within their main building at 473 Douro Street in Stratford. We accepted the offer and have recently relocated the Foundation’s main office to Douro Street.

Tim Culliton and CULLITON Inc. have been major supporters of the Community Foundation for over 18 years – as an annual corporate sponsor, and fund holder establishing the CULLITON Fund in 2012, and family funds in 2011 and 2019. Thank you, Tim, and CULLITON Inc. for this incredible donation, and for believing in our Foundation’s mission from our earliest days.

From our first office space in the Falstaff Family Centre to 55 Lorne Avenue, property owners of our past office spaces have been extraordinary supporters. Thank you Loreena McKennitt for providing office space for us at Falstaff Family Centre in our early years, and thank you Rambri Management, Anne, and Don McDougall, for your kindness for ten of our twelve years at Lorne Avenue. We are deeply grateful to the wonderful property owners of our office spaces past and present.

We would also like to express a special thank you to Hyde Construction, Lisa and Peter Hyde, and Farm Credit Canada for helping us reimagine and renovate our Lorne Avenue office space as our needs grew. The donation of your construction expertise and labour and supporting grant helped us create a welcoming space we enjoyed for over 10 years.

Introducing our Grant and Community Investment Lead

We are thrilled to announce that Ellen Balmain, founder of Balmain Consulting, will be collaborating with the Community Foundation on a contract basis as Grant and Community Investment Lead. Ellen brings to the Foundation extensive leadership experience in community development and knowledge of the charitable and non-profit sector within our region.

Ellen will focus her support primarily to the Foundation’s local grant-making activities facilitating the Grants and Community Investment Program, and in research and consultation to help the Foundation develop a deeper understanding of local community priorities and initiatives in Stratford, St. Marys, and Perth County.

Please join us as we welcome Ellen to the Foundation team. We look forward to working with Ellen to advance our grant-making and community investment initiatives. Ellen can be reached at grants@spccf.ca.
