‘STAY IN’ EVENT: OH, WHAT A NIGHT!
STAY AT HOME GALA HOSTED BY THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

May 6, 2020 – Stratford, ON – On May 2, households across Stratford, St. Marys, and Perth County joined to partake in the Stay At Home Gala. We are proud to announce that we met our goal of raising $25,000 for the Stratford Perth Community Foundation’s Charitable Response Fund.

Both produced and hosted by the Stratford Perth Community Foundation, this local event was part of a cross-country series of Stay At Home Gala events which collectively raised over $500,000 for communities across Canada.

With a chat feature available, gala attendees enjoyed their night chatting with one another offering kind words of positivity as they welcomed both local and national Canadian personalities into their homes. The ‘stay in’ event was a prime example that ‘physical’ distancing does not necessarily have to mean ‘social’ distancing.

“When Canadians come together in times of need to support one another, it allows events and fundraisers like this to be possible” shared Heidi Culliton, Executive Director for the Stratford Perth Community Foundation. “Our Stay At Home Gala was all that we hoped it would be – an evening to connect, unite and support our community, all from the comfort of home. We are deeply grateful to all our entertainers and speakers for their inspiration and enthusiasm before and during the event. And, to everyone who joined us, thank you for believing that we can get through these unprecedented times if we have hope, spread kindness, and work together.”

Artists and speakers who entertained and inspired gala attendees: Brittlestar with wife Shannon (co-emcees), Lloyd and Nancy Robertson, Loreena McKennitt, Dayna Manning, The Bookends, Andrew Williams, Joani Gerber, Eddie Matthews, John Kastner, Anita Gaffney, Mike Masse, Corey and Malory Conners, Doug MacDougald, Steve Rae, Jessie Votary.

Business and family supporters helping to make this evening possible: Doug MacDougald and Barbara Green, Libro Credit Union, Dennis DesRosiers and Lucy Petrasiunas, GOTECH Networking Solutions.
