As your local community foundation, we invest in communities throughout the region from Stratford to St. Marys and across Perth County. Annually we provide grants from named and regional funds to support local charities and community-based organizations vital to this region.

A DONOR’S STORY

New fundraiser to support healthy snacks in Listowel schools

In 2020, Listowel resident and owner of DynaFit fitness facility, Chris Kurz, wanted to fund healthy school nutrition programs and he knew just how he was going to do it – by flipping a 400lb tire and raising money for the Chris Kurz Fund.

No stranger to intense ‘strongman’ fundraisers, Chris has a goal of raising $40,000 for his 40^th Birthday. Chris’ fund will help fund school nutrition programs in Listowel – a caring legacy for his community.

How can you cheer Chris on? Due to the current pandemic restrictions Chris will have to do this event solo, but you can watch online! Follow the Chris Kurz Fund on Facebook to get all the updates!

MyBrainPacer™ App now available!

In 2012 Rob Staffen suffered a severe brain injury from a biking accident. In 2014, the Staffen family turned the template for the charitable golf tournament on its head and raised thousands for the Brain & Mind Matters Community Fund, a vital community legacy providing annual grants to support mental health and wellness programs, traumatic brain injury recovery services and concussion therapy. A pivotal project supported by their fund is the St. Joseph’s Parkwood Institute’s MyBrainPacer™ App assisting brain injury patients manage day-to-day activities.
