Dear Community Partners,
Since the declaration of a COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize our community is in unprecedented times and is looking at a future of uncertainty. As your Community Foundation we want to help ease some of your worry and reach out to you about your 2019 grant.
We understand your priorities have shifted and can only imagine how your organization has been, and will be, impacted. We have looked through our processes and quickly identified a few areas where we may provide you with a bit of relief in the short term. Here’s a list of temporary changes we are making to assist our charitable partners:
- If you’ve completed your program/project that was funded by a 2019 grant, but have not submitted your evaluation forms, you will be given additional time to complete the forms. Complete them whenever it is reasonable to do so.
- If the program/project you received funding for cannot be completed within the time period originally outlined – that’s okay. When you determine the amount of time it will require, you can let us know.
- If the grant was for an event or included participation that has been impacted by COVID-19, we are open to discuss that impact and potential areas to redirect that grant at your organization. Similarly, if you are now focusing on COVID-19 and you can’t direct attention to the program/project you were going to undertake with the funding, let us know and we can discuss redirecting your grant to work that is required at your organization.
- We will not be asking any organization that received grants in 2019 to return the funds due to impacts on your organization resulting from COVID-19.
We have posted a short survey we hope you can take a quick moment to complete. We hope to understand how you are managing in this uncertain time, how COVID-19 is impacting your work, and learn about your financial needs. Your survey response will help inform us on where support is needed most, and how best to work with other community leaders to assist those most deeply impacted. Thank you for the important work you do in service to others.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, or any other member of the team at SPCF.
From our team to yours, wishing you and your families’ good health over the weeks ahead.
